This piece probably started out life as a 1 litre pitcher produced at the Wallerfangen factory. It is thought that the lid was added after it left the factory.
This base mark is on the pitcher above. It is thought in this case that the number of "petals" protruding from the base, could possibly indicate the year of manufacture between 1881 to 1889. So in this case the year might be 1885.

V&B Wallerfangen "Made in Saar Basin" which was in existence between 1920 and 1935, on the base of the featured plate, above.

Believed to be the only design of drinking stein produced at the Wallerfangen factory. This 0.5 litre stein is extremely similar to the stein produced at the Villeroy & Boch - Schramberg factory
